Saved by the Lens #6
Portrait of Will.
My high school buddy Will, who pushed me into wrestling so that I can see my best potential. The irony of this was I did it to get the attention of girls, (enter sarcastic tone), by rolling around on a mat with boys? Uh yeah, I shake my head at the thought. But the feelings of gladiator was not all lost with me. In fact, it was the most incredible feeling to duke it out with another. Every win was the ultimate energetic high - life was good. And every lost felt like my heart was ripped apart from me.
Alemany Indians …
Over the years we kept in touch. I was his best man at this wedding. Both of us pursuing our journeys in entrepreneurship. Families growing, travel, fishing, and football.
The universe has its mysterious ways to bring people together. Over time, both of us would lose our fathers, help each other move, and encourage each other through tough times.
Most of the time he just listens to my rants, the off the moment speeches, the constant day dreaming sessions, in pursuit of adventures. I get to witness firsthand someone turning lemons into apples. Listening to stories of perseverance.

When the captain of the wrestling team says go get creative, well then, creative I will get.
During Will’s last trip to Los Angeles, I asked if he would pose for a portrait project that I’m working on. Without hesitation, he said he was in.
Pues Boom!
Thanks Will.
