It all begins with a feeling. And then it spirals into so many directions it’s overwhelming. But the need to create is so aggressive to my soul. With it, I climb the highest mountains. Without it, and I feel the feels man.

Like, whoa.

Let’s get into this.

So how do I deal with it? I create. I get to the roots of my mind and deal with life head first. And I take photos. Like a lot of photos. And sometimes, I create something worth seeing in a magazine, or somebody’s social media, but whatever it is, it’s all about the creative process. The beautiful creative process that leads into something so breath taking. And the results? Well … icing on the cake.

Magic Carpet rides. And a puff.

Like every day. That’s the feeling of when I’m in the creative process. Floating on magic carpets. Once the creativity flows in, all I can do is sit back, smoke a joint and watch the work unfold. Poof. let’s get creative.

And use this 35mm lens.

This lens is everything to me. Given to me as a gift from my mentor Charles Bush. This lens is a solid work horse, and it’s kept me from losing my mind. She’s a curse though. It takes all of my creativity to see life from a fixed lens. And the space issues. ¡Coño! Like, I’m either too close or way too close. I once shot a whole portrait session with it. Thankfully we both chewed gum. She tests my patience, forcing me to slow my roll, And sometimes she gets out of focus and then I’m like, dude. Can’t you see its right there?!!

But who can resist her creative energy?

¿Y, yo?

I admit I always give in. Because heaven and hell requires me to live in it. Because I’ve become so unemployable that the only means of employment is to hire myself. Because as Louis Armstrong sings it “I got it bad and that ain’t good.”
